A mostly cloudy and cold day with some outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow at first but becoming mainly dry by afternoon with perhaps some brighter spells developing.
Tonight: min: -1 C
It should stay mainly dry through the evening and overnight although a little drizzle is possible over the Pennines. Some cloud breaks likely with a slight frost in places.
Thursday: max: 3 C
Dry but quite cold again with large amounts of cloud at times but also some brighter spells.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Dry on Friday and most of Saturday but still rather cold with overnight frost and fog patches. Much milder on Sunday but windy with rain at times.
